USW Support Staff Conference Success

Friday 8th July saw Glyntaff host the annual USW Support Staff Conference and with over 140 attendees, the event was a huge success.

The theme for this year was ‘Standing Together’ and contributions from USW staff across the spectrum, including senior executives, academics and managers, as well as support staff, was a fantastic demonstration of this.

The morning’s presentations included Ben Calvert, Pro Vice Chancellor (Learning, Teaching and Student Experience) leading delegates through the Student Experience Plan and an inspiring talk from Helen Walbey, USW lecturer and managing director of Recycle Scooters in Aberdare.

A change of pace followed in the afternoon with focus shifting to a wide variety of workshops on offer, including a tour of Glyntaff’s Clinical Simulation Suite and Crime Scene House, sketchnoting, project management, an exploration of the Dementia Friends scheme and a moving opportunity to hear from a Time to Change Wales Champion.
