Knowledge Economy Skills Scholarships (KESS) is a pan-Wales higher level skills initiative led by Bangor University on behalf of the HE sector in Wales. It is part funded by the Welsh Government’s European Social Fund (ESF) convergence programme for West Wales and the Valleys.
The Research and Innovation Services (RISe) Office is responsible for managing and co-ordinating the University of South Wales’ participation in the Knowledge Economy Skills Scholarships (KESS) Programme, which is led by Bangor University. The KESS programme supports a portfolio of collaborative research projects (PhD and MRes) with external partners based in the Convergence area of Wales, co-financed by the EU’s Convergence European Social Fund though the Welsh Government.
The KESS II Business Liaison Officer will have a key role in the implementation and the continued development of the KESS II Programme in USW. The main purpose of the role is to promote the KESS II programme to a wide range of potential private sector and third/public sector organisations, with the aim of engaging them to collaborate with the University on strategic PhD/MRes research projects. The BLO is responsible for managing Intellectual Property risks, and for realising project benefits.
