We’re looking for a new colleague to help take our School of Art and Design in exciting directions. If you have a vision for the future of your discipline, an impressive record of innovation in teaching and learning, and can demonstrate active research and scholarship, we would like to meet you. We have a vacancy on our degree programme in Television and Film Set Design. This sit within the School of Art and Design and have just moved to a purpose-built facility in the centre of Cardiff, opened in November by Tony Hall, Director General of the BBC.

Our TV and Film Set Design course is internationally famous and its graduates have gained work on leading productions including Doctor Who, Rogue One, Wonder Woman, James Bond and Sherlock, as well as many well-known light entertainment shows. Our location near the BBC’s Roath Lock studios and the new Welsh bases for ITV and Pinewood means our students have access to fantastic work experience and expert input.

We have a vacancy for such an expert to join our dedicated team in delivering and developing this programme, ensuring that the mix of traditional design skills is enhanced by the latest practice, and embraces new developments. As well as proven teaching experience at Higher Education level, you should be able to demonstrate contemporary industry awareness, and offer a proven ability to be able to contribute to a thriving educational community through the development of industry based projects. In addition, you’ll be up to date with practice in your field, or even ahead of it, and be able to bring fresh thinking, contacts and currency to complement our team.
