We’re looking for a new colleague to help take our School of Art and Design in exciting directions. If you have a vision for the future of your discipline, an impressive record of innovation in teaching and learning, and can demonstrate active research and scholarship, we would like to meet you.
Our Fashion Promotion course is interdisciplinary, introducing students to concepts from business, design, and creative and strategic thinking. As such it attracts students from a range of backgrounds keen to understand the cultural and social impact of fashion and the way it is.
Fashion Promotion shares content with its sister course, Fashion Marketing and Retail Design, and has international appeal. We’re looking for a colleague with the ambition to build on the outstanding work of your predecessor. You’ll be a classic T-shaped expert, with a breadth of interests to match or expand the course’s curriculum, but offering one or two deep specialisms.
You’ll have experience of graphic design and/or photography within a fashion context and of fashion branding across traditional print media and online platforms. For this vacancy, you’ll be up to date with practice in your field, or even ahead of it, and be able to bring fresh thinking, contacts and currency to complement our team. In addition, evidence of entrepreneurial development would be advantageous.
We have a vacancy for such an expert to join our dedicated team in delivering and developing this programme, ensuring that the mix of traditional design skills is enhanced by the latest practice, and embraces new developments. As well as proven teaching experience at Higher Education level, you should be able to demonstrate contemporary industry awareness, and offer a proven ability to be able to contribute to a thriving educational community through the development of industry based projects.
