The University of South Wales has secured ERDF funding to establish the Centre of Excellence in Mobile & Emerging Technologies (CEMET). This is the first of its type in the United Kingdom. CEMET will build on existing expertise, and the strong digital economy in Wales, to collaborate with a range of businesses on the delivery of a number of developmental and applied research projects. CEMET will be a specialist centre, undertaking applied research into emerging technologies (including IoT, AR, VR, AI, Serious Game Technology, Big Data, Cyber Security, Sensor Technology and M-Health) and their use and adoption within businesses. The Centre will build on the existing capability held in Wales in the Digital field, by undertaking collaborative R&D projects focusing on the development of products and services that have the potential to support Welsh businesses across all sectors.
The Centre of Excellence in Mobile & Emerging Technologies (CEMET) is looking to recruit a R&D Associate. Reporting directly to the Programme Manager, the post holder will be primarily responsible for undertaking collaborative R&D projects, incorporating the development of hardware / software using a variety of programming languages. The post holder will be expected to engage in short-term collaborative research projects with SMEs which may be diverse in nature.
