The University of South Wales has secured ERDF funding to establish the Centre of Excellence in Mobile & Emerging Technologies (CEMET). This is the first of its type in the United Kingdom. CEMET will build on existing expertise, and the strong digital economy in Wales, to collaborate with a range of businesses on the delivery of a number of developmental and applied research projects. CEMET will be a specialist centre, undertaking applied research into emerging technologies (including IoT, AR, VR, AI, Serious Game Technology, Big Data, Cyber Security, Sensor Technology and M-Health) and their use and adoption within businesses. The Centre will build on the existing capability held in Wales in the Digital field, by undertaking collaborative R&D projects focusing on the development of products and services that have the potential to support Welsh businesses across all sectors.
Reporting directly to the CEMET Programme Manager, the post holder will be primarily responsible for designing, developing and producing software and hardware to support a variety of R&D projects undertaken by CEMET in collaboration with SMEs.
This post is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government.
