The School of Sport, Health and Professional Practice, located in the Faculty of Life Sciences and Education at the University of South Wales is investing in and building upon its existing excellence in research in sport and physical activity. As part of this strategy, a Research Assistant is sought to work alongside researchers in the broad areas of sport psychology and coaching. The role involves supporting a team of academics led by Professor Rich Mullen and Professor Brendan Cropley on a range of research projects. The role will involve assisting with recruitment and helping to run research studies. The successful applicant will be motivated, organized and able to work independently to deadlines and with attention to detail. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
The successful candidate will have a good first degree and postgraduate degree (MSc / MRes / MPhil / PhD) in sport psychology, sports science or sport coaching. Quantitative research skills are essential, with a working knowledge of the design and analysis of experiments highly desirable. Some knowledge of qualitative research techniques would also be an advantage.
This position is based at the Pontypridd campus.
