An enthusiastic Lecturer in CBT is sought to join a strong teaching team in Therapeutic Studies, in the Faculty of Life Sciences and Education. This post will suit an experienced Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, able to teach at postgraduate level.

The successful applicant will teach primarily at postgraduate level, and will:

  • contribute to teaching of  CBT skills and theory at introductory and qualifying levels
  • contribute to  teaching of professional practice issues
  • lead modules on the University Certificate in Counselling Skills  (CBT pathway)
  • support and supervise Masters dissertation projects
  • engage in scholarly activity. 

This is an opportunity to join a vibrant and enthusiastic team, which encompasses a wide range of counselling and psychotherapy approaches.  The successful applicant will be an experienced cognitive behavioural therapist , with up- to- date knowledge of the subject area and a commitment to training new therapists in best practice. He/she will be accredited as a therapist by BABCP (or eligible to apply for accreditation). Experience of teaching in Higher or Further Education is preferred. Interest in developing a research profile is a strong advantage.

The post is based is at our attractive modern city centre campus in Newport; it may in addition involve some teaching at the Pontypridd campus.
