The School of Applied Sciences are seeking a Lecturer (0.6 Full Time Equivalent) to deliver classroom, simulation and laboratory-based classes to undergraduates and postgraduates in a broad range of subject areas within the field of forensic science. You will join a proactive team with a range of diverse backgrounds to deliver across our portfolio of BSc, MSci and MSc degree programmes.
As someone who holds relevant academic qualifications and/or who has significant practitioner either in the fields of crime scene investigation or forensic evidence analysis, you will be responsible for the design and delivery of teaching and learning materials, as well as contributing to a wide range of assessment methodologies for students.
You will be able to provide a student learning experience across the three core professional body accreditation elements of Crime Scene Investigation, Laboratory Analysis of Evidence and the Interpretation, Evaluation and Presentation of Evidence, as well as bringing your own abilities, background and experiences to enhance student learning.
You will also be responsible for the design and supervision of student projects at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, so experience of working safely in either a laboratory environment or at crime scenes is essential for this role.
The successful candidate will also assume module leadership of a small number of modules, being responsible for the overall quality and direction of the module, which may extend to those modules also delivered by our collaborative partners.
