The National Cyber Security Academy (NCSA) is an exciting new initiative designed by the University of South Wales (USW), working in partnership with Welsh Government and industry leaders, which aims to address the national shortage of graduates with the necessary knowledge and practical hands on skills to meet the needs of industry and business brought about by increased cyber security threats.
The pedagogical ethos of the Academy is that students learn through doing. Teaching involves a problem-based learning approach so that students learn through undertaking real-life projects and direct engagement with industry professionals.
Due to the rapid growth in applications, the School of Computing & Mathematics is seeking a suitably qualified lecturer to work primarily within the Academy at City Campus Newport, but also to input into the delivery at Treforest.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a commitment to high quality teaching and have a practical understanding of their subject. They will also be able to demonstrate good industrial knowledge particularly in the areas of networked systems, server configuration and secure systems.
They will also be able to demonstrate good experience in the pastoral care of students along with evidence of direct engagement with industry on academic projects.
