The Faculty of Life Sciences and Education is seeking to appoint a Lecturer (part-time) to join the School of Psychology and Therapeutic Studies. The successful applicant will teach at undergraduate level, primarily on the BA (Hons) Creative and Therapeutic Arts degree. We would like to hear from you if you could:

Teach on a range of modules on the BA (Hons) Creative and Therapeutic Arts

Be responsible for the delivery of art skills and knowledge-based lectures including other related topics within the field of training Creative Arts Practitioners (CAPs), such as workshop facilitation, participation and collaboration, and working with a variety of potential client groups across the lifespan who may experience issues relating to learning disabilities, physical disability and wellbeing difficulties

Engage in research, scholarly activity and income generating activities of the School, such as external training.

Contribute to the planning and preparation of teaching and learning activities across a range of modules

Contribute to independent study supervision (dissertation), placement observations and student recruitment activities.

This job may suit you if you are an experienced artist, community arts practitioner or an arts therapist with up-to-date knowledge of the subject area and a commitment to educating and training Creative Arts Practitioners (CAPs) in best practice. Students benefit from placements across a wide range of arts and health organisations and the role will require a contribution to the development of professional arts in health placement partnerships. Experience of teaching in Higher or Further Education is preferred. Interest in developing a research profile is a strong advantage.

The course is based at our dedicated studios and teaching rooms in Pontypridd Campus, which has excellent public transport links.
