The School of Sport, Health and Professional Practice, located in the Faculty of Life Sciences and Education at the University of South Wales is investing in and building upon its existing excellence in research in the sport and exercise sciences. As part of this strategy, a part-time Research Assistant is sought to work alongside researchers in the broad area of sport psychology. The role involves supporting a team of academics led by Professor Rich Mullen on a range of research projects. The role will involve assisting with literature searching, writing literature reviews, data entry and analysis, and preparing research papers for publication. The successful applicant will be motivated, organized and able to work independently to deadlines and with attention to detail. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
The successful candidate will have a good BPS accredited first degree in Sport Psychology or a Sports Science degree and a postgraduate degree (MSc / MRes / MPhil / PhD) in a related area. Advanced quantitative research skills are essential, with a working knowledge of the design and analysis of experiments highly desirable. Knowledge of qualitative research techniques would also be an advantage.
This position is based at the Pontypridd campus.
