An opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer position within the Film & Visual Effects Area in the School of Production and Performance at the University of South Wales Cardiff campus. The post holder will contribute to the teaching and further development of the BA (Hons) Visual Effects & Motion Graphics course.

Whether it's Visual Effects compositing for films, motion design for motion posters, or experiments in motion with 3D animation software, our Visual Effects and Motion Graphics students have the drive and creativity to work in one of the most exciting, dynamic and global creative industries. Our students create industry-facing work, supported with 2D, 3D and visual effects software, alongside our well equipped Green Screen Studio in our purpose built facility in Cardiff.

The successful candidate will have:

Relevant industry experience, and be able to deliver innovative, high quality, and challenging learning experiences to students;

A strong working knowledge of the Visual Effects Industry and Business.

Experience with Visual Effects and Motion Graphics industry working pipelines;

A strong working knowledge of Compositing software, specifically Nuke and Photoshop, is essential. Good knowledge of After Effects and Premier is also an advantage. Knowledge of 3D software such as Cinema 4D, Realflow, Maya, PF Track, Houdini etc. is desirable.

A willingness to explore and research the ever changing practices in Visual Effects & Motion Graphics workflows;

The ability to demonstrate industry awareness and contribute to a thriving educational community through the development of industry based projects.
