Job Summary

The College Merthyr Tydfil wishes to appoint a full time Lead Worker for a fixed-term (1.0 FTE / 37 Hours per week, each week, including College Holiday periods) between 1st December 2019 to 30th June 2020 to work with its Inspire 2 Achieve operation for West Wales and the Valleys, which is part-funded by European Social funds as part of the European Structural Funds' programme for West Wales and the Valleys, 2014-2020.

The main purposes of the role are as follows:

To carry out general and specific responsibilities and duties in accordance with policies, procedures, processes, and practices relevant to the specific operation as required by the European Commission, the Welsh European Funding Office (WEFO), the lead beneficiary, and the College Merthyr Tydfil as a joint beneficiary, as well as any other organisation or body whose quality standards influence and/or impact upon the achievement of the operation’s aims and targets.

To provide practical and personal support to individual participants or groups of participants engaged with the Inspire to Achieve (I2A) operation, to facilitate learning, and participation in college life, thereby reducing the risk of participants becoming NEET. Maintaining confidentially, and managing all relevant documentation and other evidence in line with relevant GDPR policies, processes, and practices.

The part-time, hourly-paid Trainers and Assessors will support the identification of the correct course of learning for participants, and then deliver the necessary, relevant assessment and/or provide internal quality assurance of VQs and/or vocational training courses to allow the participant to successfully achieve the appropriate qualification. The part-time, hourly-paid Trainers and Assessors will also provide personal support, advice, and guidance for the operations' participant's allocated to them. The Internal Quality Assurers will ensure quality standards required by respective awarding bodies, the College Merthyr Tydfil, and the Upskilling@Work operations in respect to the delivery of accredited qualifications are achieved. They will work closely with the Operations Manager, Employer Liaison Officer, and the wider Upskilling@Work team to ensure the aims of the operations are achieved.
